PSA to Rahn Hoof Care Clients:

~ As of January 1, 2026, there was a price increase for all services. I have discussed price changes with most clients, but with the busy end of year, I wanted to post an update for anyone I have not talked to yet. I have analyzed my input costs and have tried to keep my prices fair and competitive.

~ I have also added Venmo as a payment option.

Happy New Year! Thank you to all of my clients for a busy and successful 2025. I was reflecting on my year while I was working today, and I feel grateful to be able to do what I do for a living. I have the privilege of working on some amazing horses and for some great people.
As always, my goal for 2026 is to help horses and provide a professional service. I am looking forward to expanding my knowledge and working with my clients in the coming year!

Leather rim pads on a barrel horse that needed something a little extra. It’s always rewarding to help horses stay sound, so they are able to keep competing. Hope everyone is having a great Friday!

It was a little warm this week, but it always could be worse. I would rather sweat than shiver any day. Finished the week out strong with some drill tech shoe on the fronts of a Friesian stud and some Kahn Certifiers on the back of a barrel horse.

Today I am thankful for my good customers. We are in the heat of busy season, and there is no sign of slowing down anytime soon. Farriers are trying there best to keep up with the high demand of their schedules, the heat, and the battle with the flies that have seem to become invincible to fly spray. On occasion, they might have part of a day with their family or themselves. Even so, in the back of their mind they are thinking about what the next day, or week might bring. About a mystery lameness they have been doing more research on to try and help a horse get better. They are just people, but a lot of times they go beyond their normal physical and emotional limits to make everything work. They don’t ask for special treatment. They just want to be treated fairly and notice any effort to make their lives easier. To those that do so I sincerely appreciate it.

It’s a beautiful day to be shoeing horses! Just remember, along with the beautiful weather, fly season is here. Please make sure that you have some good fly stray on hand. Your farrier and your horses will appreciate it!

Some pictures of progress made on a sweet little mare that needed some help with her feet. By adding shoes and caudal support pads, her caudal aspect of her foot has strengthened. Her heels are no longerer crushed and run forward, as well as her feet are no longer flared out. I am thankful for a good Owner, Veterinarian, Farrier dynamic working on this case. It makes all the difference for horses needing help. Have a great Thursday!

Added some lateral support to the hind end of this mare to hopefully aid in bettering her confidence and performance.

PSA to Rahn Hoof Care Clients: It feels good to be back from Arizona and back to work. I will start getting ahold of my clients this weekend to set up appointments for the month of March and into April. If any of my current clients need a special time consideration, please let me know and we can plan accordingly. If there are any new/potential clients, feel free to reach out and I will be happy to work with you the best I can. I look forward to seeing everyone and their horses this spring.
