ID Group Home provider in Sterling and Herndon seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) And Personal Care Aids (PCA's) to work in a group home with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Your primary responsibility is to assist the individuals with activities of daily living, socialization, leisure and recreation and communication skills. Training will be provided. ONLY submit resume if you live within 15 miles of Sterling. Sign on Bonus of $500.00
Following shifts needed:
Monday-Friday 9:00AM-9:00PM(12 hour shift)
Competitive pay, in-house education provided.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Supporting personal care routines such as feeding, personal grooming, toileting, and dressing.
2. Utilizing adaptive devices (wheelchairs, walkers, hearing aids, etc.) in accordance with individual's treatment plan.
5. Supporting activities and assuring safety and healthcare practices are consistently observed.
6. Exercising good judgment in the application of established policies and procedures in order to ensure well-being
and safety of all persons that we serve.
7. Interacting frequently and positively with individuals, external professionals, clinicians, family, etc. This would include
role-modeling of appropriate personal conduct, manners, and professional appearance.
8. Accompanying persons served on community outings and engaging in leisure, educational, and recreational activities.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Must be at least 21 years of age with at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
· Must be able to obtain a health certificate stating employee is free and clear of any and all communicable diseases.
· Must possess a valid and current driver license
· Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
· Must be able and willing to complete duties as directed and model professional behavior.
· Must be computer literate with the ability to navigate company established software systems.
· Possess the ability to employ critical thinking skills when circumstances warrant such action (including Crisis Situations)
· Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle individuals based on whatever
maturity level they are currently functioning.
