Jane Dillon Smith | Returning Sponsored Athlete (2026–2027)
Jane Dillon Smith is a 5th-degree black belt, martial arts master, and current member of the AAU National Team for Traditional Forms. A multi-time National gold medalist in Traditional Forms and both Traditional and Creative Weapons, Jane has built a reputation for precision, discipline, and consistency at the highest levels of competition.
But just one month after earning her place on the National Team, Jane found out she was pregnant. Determined to continue pursuing her competitive goals, she made the decision to carry on training and competing, going on to compete in six tournaments while pregnant, representing AAU and earning nothing below silver, including multiple gold medals and 2 Grand Champion titles.
Most recently, she competed in the Iowa AAU State Championships just two weeks shy of her due date, where she won the Adult Black Belt Forms Grand Championship, accomplishing her goal of successfully competing at 9 months pregnant. Throughout her pregnancy, Jane has continued to teach classes daily while navigating the physical demands of training, competition, and the realities of hormonal and physical changes. With the support of Dr. Lauren and Dr. Lali at Rituals Chiropractic & Wellness, she has been able to maintain performance, recovery, and consistency at an elite level.
Jane is passionate about redefining what’s possible for women in sport. Her mission is to show that becoming a mother does not mean stepping away from your goals, it can be part of the journey. She plans to return to the national stage just two months postpartum, continuing to compete at the highest level without having taken time off during her pregnancy.
Her story is one of resilience, discipline, and a commitment to both her craft and her message: you don’t have to choose between motherhood and your athletic dreams.
