In hospice care, social workers walk beside patients and families during some of life’s most sacred and vulnerable moments. At Hospice of the Plains, we are honored to celebrate the compassionate professionals who uplift, defend, and transform lives every single day.

💛 UPLIFT – They provide emotional support at the bedside, help families process complex feelings, facilitate meaningful conversations, and bring calm in moments of uncertainty.

🛡️ DEFEND – They advocate for patient wishes, protect dignity, navigate difficult decisions, and ensure every individual’s voice is honored at the end of life.

🌿 TRANSFORM – They guide families through anticipatory grief, help mend relationships, connect loved ones to resources, and create space for peace, healing, and legacy.

Hospice social workers are steady anchors, trusted listeners, and fierce advocates. They remind families they are not alone — and that comfort, dignity, and compassion matter deeply.

Throughout the month of March, you can expect to hear directly from our Hospice of the Plains social workers as they share stories, insights, and reflections from the heart of hospice care.

On behalf of everyone at Hospice of the Plains, Inc., we extend our heartfelt thanks to all who helped make this year’s 23rd Annual Hospice Auction such a memorable and impactful event.

To our generous donors, sponsors, volunteers, bidders, and community supporters — your kindness and commitment made this evening possible. Because of your support, the funds raised through this auction directly benefit our patients and families, ensuring that no patient is ever turned away due to an inability to pay. Your generosity allows our hospice team to focus on what matters most: providing compassionate, high-quality end-of-life care to as many individuals and families in our local communities as possible.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, events like this auction — along with memorials and charitable donations — are vital to sustaining our mission. They allow us to continue offering physical, emotional, and spiritual support during life’s most sacred moments, regardless of financial circumstances.
