Since we have received some backlash about us having a beer garden at our Clear Path Kickoff, we thought it would be appropriate to address anyones concerns. First off, let us start by saying that this is a community engagement event, not a recovery event. We are providing something fun for our community to participate in and come together and have a good time. Secondly, one of the founders of this non-profit, and admin of this page, is a recovering alcoholic himself.
At Clear Path Recovery, we know that alcohol doesn’t disappear just because someone chooses recovery. It’s still a part of our communities, our celebrations, and our daily lives. That’s why our Kickoff Block Party will include a beer garden, AND delicious handcrafted mocktails and non-alcoholic options—because recovery is about learning to live fully in the world as it is, not avoiding it.
The beer garden helps us create a welcoming, inclusive event where everyone—whether in recovery, supporting a loved one, or simply part of our community—can come together and have a good time, while finding out who we are and what we are trying to accomplish.
More than just the beer garden, this event is about connection. We’re closing down the streets for food trucks, live music, and fun for all ages. It’s a chance to relax, meet new people, and enjoy an evening that reflects the true spirit of our community—where everyone belongs and everyone has a place at the table.
Not everyone's recovery journey is going to be the same, and if you feel like this is not an event for you, that is perfectly fine, and hopefully one of the upcoming fun things we have planned will be more up your alley!
