Several years ago I had a laser hair removal treatment that went badly and caused an injury that could have been avoided. That experience inspired me to create Chesapeake Laser and Skin Care Center so every patient receives safe, effective, and compassionate care.

Sometimes we see patients who were told they could be treated at other practices but had contraindications that required examination by a physician before proceeding. We believe in caution over convenience and put your safety first every single time.

Laser and light treatments can be powerful tools for skin rejuvenation, but they carry real risks especially for people with darker, melanated skin. If not used properly, they can cause serious burns, scarring, hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, or even life-threatening damage. That is why it is absolutely essential to seek care from a specialist who understands skin color variations and uses technology proven safe for darker complexions.

Additionally, before your appointment please do not have an active tan. Tanned skin absorbs more light and significantly increases the risk of complications.
