Coaching is more like playing chess than checkers. To excel, you need to think several steps ahead.

Every decision to change something shouldn't just focus on the immediate impact, but also how it plays out over time.

You might have two options that seem similar right now, but the long-term effects can be drastically different. True progress isn’t about quick fixes it’s the result of consistent, deliberate effort over time. And even when you hit a goal, you want to be in a position to keep building on that success.

Take weight loss as an example. Pushing someone hard to lose 10lbs quickly when they're already struggling might get results in the short term, but what happens after? Instead, focus on improving their foundation first. Sure, they’ll still lose the weight, but with a stronger base, they can continue to thrive well beyond that milestone.

Too often, short-term thinking holds people back from reaching their full potential.

Growth isn’t always linear. It’s a winding road with peaks and valleys, moments of doubt, and flashes of triumph. The journey from where you started to where you are now is a testament to your strength and perseverance.The person on the left worked hard, driven by goals and a vision of what could be. The person on the right has learned that true transformation isn’t just about the outside it's about inner resilience, understanding, and self-love. Both versions of you are equally powerful, because both are part of the same beautiful story.

Grace is what you give yourself on the days when motivation is low and the results aren’t immediate. It’s what allows you to keep moving forward, even when progress seems slow.

Goals are the milestones you set to guide you, but remember that they’re just markers along a much bigger journey.
