Hello Dear Ones,
I hope this social media finds you well, enjoying the beginnings of our spring and summer season! Yoga is going strong at the Three Mile Community Center and I thank you for attending classes. I'd like to share with you the details of my first workshop at the Center. It is called Breathing for Life, a 3 week series for Breath Awareness. Through my years as a yoga and meditation student and guide I have found my breath to be one of my biggest tools to support me in times of stress, tension and deepening my feelings of JOY. Please enjoy this writing by my meditation teacher, Dr. Lorin Roche:
Breathing is by nature an intimate act. Atoms of oxygen and nitrogen that have been circulating in the atmosphere of Earth for billions of years come into our mouth and nose, into the temple of the lungs, and are borne by blood throughout our bodies to permeate every cell. Breath is an intimate communion with the forces of life, the most intimate relationship we have and is to be savored. The more awake we are – with all our senses, and all our emotions – to the astonishing intimacy that is breath, the more freely the life-force, prana, can circulate in our bodies, and keep us healthy and in balance.
— Lorin Roche
Week One: May 5 9:30-10:45: We will gather inside at the Three Mile Community Center with all of our yoga props to learn stretches and support systems to assist in creating spaciousness in our physical bodies.
Week Two: May 12 9:30-10:45: We dive in a bit more deeply into the next layer of our being, our emotional and mental bodies.
Week Three: May 19 9:30-10:45: Weather permitting we will be outside at the park, connecting to the natural world around us.
Thank you to all who have already signed up for the workshop!
