📚 Type “BOOKS” for a 10% off link to our favorite interactive books for littles!

👋🏼 Hi, I’m Jordyn: Speech-Language Pathologist, Feeding Specialist, Play Expert, and Mom to 3.

Books are a huge part of our daily play and learning routines at home. About 6 months ago I introduced my toddler and preschooler to .play books and we fell in love!

Tappi has an entire collection of books that have stories, music, and games and keep my littles engaged for a long time! The ABCs and Vehicles books are our personal favorite ✈️

I also love the size of the pen as it supports a pre writing grasp, and the screen free interaction reinforces my littles’ love of books in a fun way!

Tappi Books are really one of a kind and so much fun to play with! And they provide a natural way to teach early learning concepts 👏

I’m a third time mom and I STILL have to have this talk with myself every single day.

So many of you messaged me that you also struggle to just sit down and relax. With a baby on you or not, rest is productive.

We have gotten so caught up in the fast paced life that as mothers we sometimes feel like we have to go 100 mph to be considered “productive.” But that’s not true.

Every nap trapped moment, every minute of 1:1 time sitting with your toddler, it’s all productive.

As I’m in the newborn stage once again, I also often say, “The laundry will look the same tomorrow, but she won’t ever be this small again after today.” And damn does that not just send me straight into tears.

Slow down and rest. It IS productive. 🩷

It’s Screen Free Week! So I’m sharing my top tips for decreasing screen time at home.

👋 Hi, I’m Jordyn: Speech-Language Pathologist, Feeding Specialist, and Mom of three. I’ve partnered with .us to help parents increase their child’s interaction time and decrease their screen time this week.

I love a good acronym to help me remember things, and “LEAD” helps me think of activities to do before I turn to a screen.

Listen
Exercise
Act
Dance

I find that if I get involved with my little ones in an activity, I usually don’t end up turning to a screen at all!

Screen time isn’t “bad” and you shouldn’t feel shame around screen time, but we know from research that excessive screen time is linked to speech delays, behavioral issues, reduced attention span, and poor sleep. (National Institute of Health, 2026).

So, if we can decrease screen time, we should!

In honor of Screen Free Week, tonies is offering 15% off orders of $125 + on their website with code “SCREENFREE15”

“Feed your newborn 8-12 times in a 24 hour period.” Sounds super straightforward, but it’s not so black and white.

There’s cluster feeding, “oops, I actually want a little more” feeding, feeding to sleep, feeding for comfort, etc.

Yesterday we had a busy day with my son’s t ball game, a trip to the playground, potty training my daughter on the go and Free Comic Book Day 😅 so naps weren’t perfect. Feeds weren’t timed out to every 2-3 hours. Truthfully every day looks different with feeding!

Some days we might be closer to 12 feeds a day but really I usually feed more often than that. And that’s okay.

And I’m feeding about every 2 hours or so overnight (but that one 4 hour stretch was so great last night! Doesn’t always happen!)

What’s a “normal” day of feeding look like for you? Because normal is really kinda relative. And that’s kinda the point- different doesn’t mean “wrong.” It just means different 🩷

Hi, toddler parents. Are we doing okay?

You know, instagram is a highlight reel. I don’t have my phone out when my child is melting, the kids are fighting, someone is being unsafe, or my child is having a really hard time navigating a transition.

But that doesn’t mean that these difficulties don’t happen! They do. Every day. It can sometimes feel like you’re all alone- that no one else’s kid does this stuff. Or that you’re a “bad” parent because your kid looked you dead in the face and said “NO.” You’re not a bad parent. So forget that.

Being a parent of toddlers and preschoolers is hard!! You’re not alone. If you had any of these difficulties this week (and like 30 other ones I didn’t write down), I had them too.

You’re not alone 🩷

☀️ Type “TUMMY” for our two popular blogs about Tummy Time, how to make it more enjoyable, and what to do if your little one doesn’t like it! ☀️

👋 Hi, I’m Jordyn: Speech-Language Pathologist, Feeding Specialist, and Mom of three. My team and I aim to educate parents on how to support their baby & toddler’s speech, feeding, and motor development at home!

➡️ “Tummy time” is recommended for all babies from birth per the AAP, and I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be stressful! Our blogs give tons of examples of ways to do tummy time at home.

🚨If your baby is crying on their belly, it’s worth looking into, as babies should NOT hate tummy time and it might be a symptom of a larger issue like body tension. You can read more about that on our website too!

🥳 If you’re looking for simple activities that help your little one meet all of their milestones, check out our Infant Playbook! Written by our team of developmental specialists to help your baby enjoy playtime without needing to buy ANY toys.

Can you believe people are saying this??

👋 Hi, I’m Jordyn: Speech-Language Pathologist, Feeding Specialist, and Mom of 3. My team and I aim to educate parents on how to support their baby & toddler’s speech, feeding, and motor development at home!

➡️ Sad to say it, but it’s true: People really think that reading to a newborn has no benefits. But, clearly there are tons.

Reading to a newborn provides parents with an opportunity to start a reading routine early.
It allows for early introduction of sign language.
It allows parents to practice pausing so their infant can respond to them.
It’s a fantastic bonding experience that any caregiver can do with their baby.

🚨 Plus we know that how much a baby was read to in their first year of life correlates with their level of academic success in school aged years.

So please, read to your newborn! You won’t regret it, and the benefits are huge.

📚 Comment “BOOK” and I’ll send you our FREE Guide for Reading to baby and our favorite books for infants!

In this house we love choices! And my toddlers especially appreciate a choice. I love that Lalo’s new Stainless Collection makes mealtimes easier because there are lots of options to choose from.

I’m serving chicken. “Do you want to dip your food in something? Great- let’s grab the Lil Dipper Snack Box!”

I’m serving yogurt. “Let’s grab the Nesting Bowls. Which size bowl do you want?”

I’m serving turkey roll ups. “Which color Suction Plate do you want?”

And so on.

I love that I can easily make a non-toxic choice with Lalo’s Stainless Collection, and my littles can make fun choices about color and size. And because it’s stainless steel, even clean up is a breeze. Everybody wins.

Lalo’s Stainless Collection is now live and I know you’ll love it as much as I do!

The last slide 🩷

After 3 postpartums, I’d argue that 1 month in is one of the hardest milestones. The hormones come crashing down, the adrenaline is gone. Reality is here. And while the reality of having a baby is so so sweet, it’s so so hard too.

I find myself needing the most encouragement around months 1 and 2, so I wanted to lend some to you. Send this to a mom in for newborn trenches. Somehow it’s easier knowing we are all in this together 🩷
