The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) is a community-based lifestyle intervention for adults with prediabetes. Its goal is to empower participants to make lasting lifestyle changes that enhance their overall health and significantly lower their risk of developing type 2 diabetes. In trials and follow-up studies, participants achieved a modest weight loss of 5% to 7% and increased their physical activity through a 12-month lifestyle change program.
