We’re so excited to welcome your child to Camp Haven at Camp Farwesta in Stewartsville, MO! This FREE camp is for kids ages 8-12 who’ve experienced the loss of a parent or sibling.

Camp Haven is a place where healing can begin and kids can simply be kids again—fishing, swimming, doing crafts, making music, and enjoying the outdoors. Even more importantly, they’ll be surrounded by other children who understand their journey and can help them feel less alone.

CAMP HAVEN was created for kids 8-14 who have experienced the loss of a loved one. At camp, they come together and bond as well as learn how to heal! Thank you Camp Haven for having me and to Morgan, JJ, Brenley and Bella, thank you for being so brave and sharing your stories of loss and healing.

Day 5: Started our day in our classes, had 2 new ones of snack class and AR Workshop came out too! Hole-in-One & Take Me Out to the Ballgame!! We had a hot and humid day but it was a great one! The campers and staff got to go play a round of mini golf at Cool Crest, and then went to the St. Joseph Mustangs game!! Campers played catch on the field, enjoyed snow cones, and walked out with the players. We enjoyed the outing as long as we could before thunder and lightening came to make us end our adventures. It was a great way to end our amazing week together!!

Day 4: We hit midweek and what an amazing day we had creating community and supporting one another. Tonight we had the opportunity as a group to set aside some time to remember our loved ones who have passed and write their name and a memory if we so chose to on a lantern. We then let those lanterns float out onto the water. Beautiful setting, and thankful for our time together as campers and staff. We have a special group here for our first year. We can't wait for our day tomorrow! More pictures to come!
