Teens who drink are more likely to experience accidents, injuries, poor school performance, and long term health impacts. Even “just once” can lead to dangerous situations like impaired driving, alcohol poisoning, or risky decision making.

The good news? Parents, caregivers, and communities make a difference.
✔️ Talk early and often about expectations
✔️ Keep alcohol secured and out of reach
✔️ Know where your teens are and who they’re with
✔️ Encourage healthy, alcohol free activities
✔️ Be a positive role model

Together, we can help teens make safe, healthy choices and build a strong future. 💛

🚫 Did you know? In Oklahoma, it’s illegal to provide a place for anyone under 21 to drink alcohol — even if you didn’t supply the alcohol yourself.

Under Oklahoma’s Social Host Law, anyone who provides the location where underage drinking occurs can be held responsible, whether they are an adult or a minor, and even if they aren’t physically present.

This law exists to keep young people safe and to help prevent tragedies like impaired driving, alcohol poisoning, and other alcohol related harms. When we work together as a community to reduce youth access to alcohol, we save lives.

💛 What you can do:
✔️ Don’t allow underage drinking on your property
✔️ Communicate clear expectations with teens and their friends
✔️ Report underage drinking parties
✔️ Be a positive role model

Keeping youth safe is everyone’s responsibility. Let’s continue building a community where our kids can grow up healthy, supported, and protected.

Binge drinking—it’s a serious health and safety risk.

Whether you’re a student, a parent, or part of our local community, we all play a role in preventing binge drinking. Choosing not to binge drink—or helping someone else make safer choices—can prevent accidents, alcohol poisoning, long term health issues, and dangerous situations.

Here are a few ways to support healthier decisions:
✔️ Talk openly about the real risks of heavy drinking
✔️ Encourage safe social environments
✔️ Step in when someone seems impaired or uncomfortable
✔️ Plan ahead with designated drivers or sober friends
✔️ Model responsible behavior—people notice

Small actions make a big impact. Let’s continue building a community where everyone feels supported, safe, and empowered to make healthy choices. 💛
