HELP WANTED
Strode Funeral Home and Cremation has an open part-time reception/administrator position, as the current employee is retiring after 9 years. This position will require working every-other weekend, defined as Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Additional weekday afternoon hours may be available. This position is ideal for students or for someone semi-retired looking for flexible, part-time work.
Applicants must exhibit exceptional professionalism, be empathetic, compassionate, and have excellent communication skills. You will be interacting with members of the public, as well as those who have experienced a loss. You must be kind, patient, and maintain a friendly and customer service-oriented approach to co-workers, vendors, and customers. We are a small company and operate close to one another. We value our relationships above all else, and expect our employees to treat each other and our patrons with respect.
Requirements include: dressing professionally while working; answering phones and assisting with general office duties; basic computer competency including Word, beginning Excel, and use of e-mail and internet; being teachable and able to learn quickly; having reliable transportation; and coming to work on-time every time…no excuses.
