Our third-year students put clinical nutrition into practice during their Primary Care lab—this time with some very special patients: their own dogs.

Students evaluated body condition scores, discussed ideal weight ranges and explored how nutrition and portioning vary by size and breed.

Hands-on learning (with a few extra belly rubs) helps prepare our future veterinarians to guide clients toward healthier, happier lives for their pets. 🐕 🦴

🐕 A Dream 30 Years in the Making 🐕

Some dreams take decades. For OSU CVM alumnae, Dr. Lacey Loveless, that dream was returning to Alaska to care for the incredible sled dogs of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race. After years away from her home state, she finally got to walk the snowy trails she’d imagined as a child — making sure each dog was healthy, happy, and ready to run. Read more about her story:
