Words from a client this week…😮‍💨

When you’re so used to ignoring your stress and pushing it down, your nervous system stays stuck and gets programmed for chaos. This stuck state leads to burnout, breakdown, and bigger issues down the road.

Instead of waiting for stress to vanish, try these steps to honor your feelings, experiences and shift out of that stuck state:

✨Acknowledge that you’re stressed. Say it out loud and bring awareness to it.

✨Stop watering your stress levels down to make it more palatable for others. (From one high achieving, people pleaser to another, I know this is hard).

✨Allow yourself to feel your stress instead of numbing out with social media, netflix, food or alcohol.

✨Create meaningful routines in your day to help process your stress & shift your body out of flight or flight into rest & calm. Some of my favorites are meditation, yoga, breath work, chiropractic care, massage, sound therapy & epsom salt baths.

✨Self reflect on your to-do list. Is there anything you can take off your plate or delegate to someone else?

✨Lean on your support systems.

✨Be ok with saying no.

You can’t always change the level of stress you experience in life, but you can find meaningful ways to check in with yourself & create space to feel and process your stress along the way.🤍

You’re not alone in wanting the healing process to speed up.😮‍💨

It can feel frustrating to put in so much time and energy in, to feel like you aren’t getting anywhere fast.⁣

Here’s the truth: time, consistency + trust in your body goes a long way.⁣

Time.⏰ Healing is a process + it takes patience. Your symptoms did not show up overnight; it took years of stress to get to that point. It is going to take time to peel back the layers to get the the root issue so your body can heal.⁣

Consistency.♾️ When your focus is on healing, the choices you make are everything. Get adjusted regularly, drink water, move your body, eat whole foods, feed your mind and soul with positivity. This intentional magic is what transforms your life.

Trust.💖You can’t pick and choose what your body prioritizes when it is healing. You may really want your body to focus on your pain points, but it may want to focus on your sleep, digestion or breathing pattern instead. Relinquishing the control is HARD, but let your body do it’s thing.⁣ It’s got this!

Healing takes time, but I can promise you - it’s worth it.

Do hard things intentionally.

Your confidence grows when you prove to yourself that you can handle momentary discomfort, do hard things, and take that first step (baby steps count) towards a goal, or something new.

Each step you take, pushing through resistance, reinforces that YOU ARE CAPABLE.💖

The creative pause class at Revival last weekend was such a gift...🎨

We felt...
✨deeper connection within our bodies through creativity.
✨joy, laughter, and fun as we created uninhibited art.
✨nurtured emotionally, spiritually and mentally being in community with one another.

Being able to release tension, regulate our nervous systems, and reconnect with our bodies and emotions through art was a new experience for us all - but it was extremely powerful and moving.

Thank you Carrie for this beautiful invitation to slow down, create freely and guiding us as we returned to wholeness.💖

This can be a hard topic to navigate with all of the noise on social media, so I’m gonna break it down for you…

🧠Regulating your nervous system means that your body can shift between its two functional modes with ease.

✨The two modes:
-Sympathetic, or the fight or flight
-Parasympathetic, or rest + digest

🌪️Nervous system dysregulation = body can’t flow back to balance between those two modes easily. The women I see coming into my practice are often stuck in sympathetic mode (their body thinks they’re being chased by a bear 24/7)🐻😖

✌️Here are ways to shift out of sympathetic overdrive + regulate your nervous system:

-Nervous system focused chiropractic care (hi, it’s me 🙋‍♀️)
-Humming + singing
-Breathwork: focusing on your exhale being longer than your inhale
-Meditation + grounding (get those feet in the grass first thing this Spring)

👉Do these things on a daily or consistent basis to help regulate and balance your nervous system!

Success Story: Happy Mama, Happy Baby

In my third trimester of pregnancy I was having a lot of lower pelvic pain and round ligament pain, something I had just assumed was a part of pregnancy and something I would have to deal with for the next 6 weeks. My baby was also in a breached position at 34 weeks and I had been told by my doctor the chances of him flipping on his own were slim due to lack of space.

After just one adjustment I noticed relief and with continued adjustments even more relief!! At my 37 week appointment my baby had turned to the optimal position for a natural delivery. Even my medical doctor was surprised!

I would highly recommend Revival Chiropractic for your prenatal care. I was able to enjoy the last weeks of my pregnancy and deliver my baby naturally. My only regret is not starting earlier on in my pregnancy!

Dr. Anna and Dr. Monica are so good at explaining everything they are doing and so knowledgeable about chiropractic care in pregnancy it was really comforting. The adjustments were so relaxing too! The doctors are so eager and excited to give their patients the best experience and are genuinely passionate about what they do!!
