Exciting news!!! We have a wonderful guest coming to Herbs and Things! This is Bonita Goodall. Bonita works as a guide, leading people on transformational journeys of healing and self discovery. One of her favorite ways to do this is through sound bath.

What is a sound bath?
a sound bath is a meditative experience that immerses you in sound vibrations at different tones and frequencies. Sound baths are rooted in the idea that these particular frequencies and vibrations can be beneficial for our bodies and overall well being. The meditative sounds wash over you creating a space for healing. This is thought to provide relief from chronic pain, mental clarity, anxiety, improved focus, and even more.

Join us for this etherial experience August 23rd at 2pm. The fee is $20, and you will need to bring a mat. If interested please feel free to message us or come into the store to reserve your spot.

Getting to know herbs....
Mugwart, also known as Artemisia Vulgarius is the herb of topic today. Both the leaves and flowers of this plant can be useful to us. As with most herbs, there are a plethora of benefits. It has been used to aid in digestion, as it can stimulate gastric juices and bile. Mugwort is great for supporting respiratory health. it can be ingested, applied as a poultice, or inhaled. It has shown to be helpful with easing a headache and menstrual cramps as well. Many use in spiritual practice, burning it to bring relaxation and a sense of calm. Claims that mugwort may bring you more vivid dreams are abundant. A simple common way to implement mugwort into your daily regimen is by making a quick tea. It can be made by adding 2 tbs of dried leaves into 1 litter of boiling water and drinking a couple of times throughout your day. We do carry Mugwort here at Herbs and Things! Come by and see us.

Let's talk Oregano...

This lovely little plant has an abundant array of possible ways it could aid with your body's health! Oregano is an antioxidant, it has antimicrobial properties, and is an anti-inflammatory. It is said that it can help to restore damage to the kidneys and the liver, and improve insulin resistance. It can also be helpful in eliminating free radicals. Not to many actual studies have been carried out on the earths natural herbs, but this one has been studied. It was found that in mice, they did in fact see a change in blood glucose issues. Another study investigated the idea it may alleviate anxiety like behaviors and improve possible memory impairment. Many have used oregano to aid the body in a faster recovery of viruses and other illnesses for thousands of years, and still today. It is a potent addition to anyones herbal collection!
