RAZOOK'S DRUG CLOSING AFTER SERVING THE STILLWATER COMMUNITY FOR 50+ YEARS

Serving the Stillwater community has been a great joy and blessing to us. We've provided friendly, knowledgeable service to residents and students since we opened our doors in 1973. And, through the years, our patients and partners have become like a family to our team.
Over the past decade, the pharmaceutical industry has experienced significant changes. Many of which have adversely affected independent pharmacies like ours. Insurance and Medicare reimbursements for prescriptions are at all-time lows and are often not provided to independent pharmacies until months after the service was rendered. These hardships have had a direct impact on our ability to serve the Stillwater community. And, following much prayer and deliberation, we closed our pharmacy business on April 3, 2024.

We are completing the closure of our business accounts, and patients with outstanding balances will soon receive your final account statements and information on how to process payment.
Although our doors are closing, we assure you that your pharmacy records and healthcare needs will be in good hands. That’s why we’ve chosen Walgreens to continue pharmacy care for our patients. Pharmacist Courtney Redding will soon join the pharmacy team at Walgreens to provide the same excellent customer service and expertise she's been providing to Razook's patients. Walgreens has been serving pharmacy patients for over 100 years, and we’re confident they’ll provide you with excellent service and personalized care. Patients will benefit from Walgreens' expertise in patient care, health conditions, potential drug interactions, and medication allergies. We also have partnered with Chad Bayer at Central Drug to continue providing services for patients residing in long-term care facilities and group homes.

Members of their teams are available to answer any questions you have regarding your prescriptions. All future pharmacy bills for new prescriptions or refills will be serviced through Walgreens or Central Drug. ‼️ The Federal Trade Commission has voted to warn against relying on prior PBM-related advocacy items that are outdated and no longer reflect market conditions. "What may have been the case years ago oftentimes no longer reflects the current marketplace," said NCPA CEO Douglas Hoey. "Despite that, certain characters have kept touting now-obsolete statements in trying to maintain the status quo and protect PBM-insurers from reforms or calls for transparency." We applaud he outcome of today's vote, which effectively removes a major line of defense for PBMs in litigation, arbitration and when opposing state and federal efforts at changes that promote a more competitive marketplace, transparency, and patient choice.

From a recent email from Superintendent Gordon:

“Should the Pioneers advance to the championship game, they will play at 1pm on Friday, Dec 2, a school day. This time and date was selected by the Oklahoma Secondary School Athletic Association. SPS has long had a practice of allowing SHS students an excused absence to attend state level championship games of any sport. Unfortunately, this year's schedule presents us with some challenges. We anticipate a great many students will wish to attend this event. A large number of our staff are parents of players and would be requesting time off to attend. Transportation of the football team, cheer, pom, and band will use a large number of buses that won't be able to return in time for dismissal. This would be a challenge any year, but in light of our shortage of drivers and lack of the large number of substitutes that will be needed, we have very limited options.

In light of the situation, I have made the decision to close school across the district on Friday, Dec 2, if the Pioneers advance to the championship. This will be treated similarly to an inclement weather day. We have a comfortable allowance in our school calendar for school closures, so no virtual assignments are needed for students. No staff will report to work except as needed for events; supervisors will communicate expectations for the day.

I'd much prefer the OSSAA schedule an evening game that would not interfere with the instructional time of our student athletes, spirit squad, band, and those wishing to support them. I will reach out to them to make a recommendation for future seasons.
