The NEST

The NEST The NEST is a boutique perinatal mental health wellness program for new and expecting mothers along with families experiencing fertility issues and loss.

NEST - Nurture. Enrich. Support. Transcend. Created by clinical psychologist, Dr. Harmony Carlson, The NEST grew out of years of traditional psychotherapy with prenatal and postpartum mothers experiencing mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety and loss. Many, if not most, mothers have questions about pregnancy and postpartum related to physical changes, fluctuating moods, and concerns or even fears about pregnancy, birth or postpartum. Others wish to develop ways of caring for themselves physically, emotionally and spiritually during this time. While traditional forms of psychotherapy can still be tailored to you program, The NEST expands options of care to include holistic and integrative approaches to meet each client's unique needs at any stage of pregnancy, postpartum, fertility or loss. Our experienced team also specializes in women's issues from adolescence through menopause and beyond.

Signs of high-functioning anxiety can be mistaken for positive traits.

From the outside, it looks like people struggling with high-functioning anxiety are thriving. They are top performers on the job. Their house is perfectly decorated. And they're the first to step up and help when someone needs it.

It may even appear they are living an Instagram-worthy, Pinterest-perfect life.

But under the surface, anxiety runs rampant. It's a large part of why they seem to have it all together.

Their anxiety pushes them to keep all the balls in the air and never let anyone see the struggle. They are detail-oriented, proactive, high-achievers.

If you can relate, we want you to know it's okay to reach out for help.

Learn to identify the signs and symptoms of high-functioning anxiety and tips to help manage it.

We're going to speak to a minute specifically to anyone burntout and exhausted from this year.

There is pressure this time of year to set a bunch of resolutions and goals for the new year. It can almost become something we feel we must do or feel guilty and ashamed of not doing.

But what happens if you let the calendar flip over to 2023 without creating a long list of things that add pressure to your life?

It's okay not to set resolutions for the year.

It's okay to let go of the old resolutions you set year after year and then feel guilty about not making progress on throughout the year.

Maybe this year is the year you focus on feeling good about yourself instead of creating a long list of things you want to change about yourself.

Just because the year changes doesn't mean you need to become a new person along with the "New Year, New You" messaging.

Our goal at The NEST is to work with you to create a customized plan to help you feel your best. If that's what you want for yourself in 2023, contact us to work with an experienced mental health professional at 651-425-9297 or through the Learn More button.

Holiday stress. There. We said it.

Hallmark wants to paint this beautiful picture of what the holidays are "supposed" to look like, but for many people, all this does is create unrealistic expectations for how the holiday season should go.

The reality is the challenges you're facing now and the ones that will pop up during the holidays probably aren't going to wrap themselves up nicely in just under an hour and a half.

So, let's leave the unrealistic solutions to the movies and look at some real solutions on how to handle stress and anxiety during the holidays.
