Have you ever considered getting help for addiction, depression or trauma, but felt unsure what that actually means? You’re not alone.

For many people, the idea of “getting help” can feel vague or even intimidating. You may know support exists, yet feel overwhelmed by the options or uncertain about where to start. Whether the encouragement is coming from within or from a loved one who says, “You really need to get help,” taking that first step can be the hardest part.

Getting help doesn’t look the same for everyone. It can include therapy, medical support, structured treatment programs or ongoing outpatient care, each designed to meet people where they are and support lasting healing. Understanding your options can bring clarity, confidence and hope to the process.

If you or someone you love is ready to take that first step, our admissions team is here to help. Call us today to talk through your options and learn what getting help can look like for you.

September is National Recovery Month- a time to celebrate the strength, resilience, and progress of everyone on their recovery journey. While we celebrate recovery every day, we're especially proud to be part of the recovery community this month and will be sharing messages alongside others in our community, like the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

This week, we're focusing on the importance of health in recovery. We can all strive to be healthier and achieve our wellness goals. Here are some key points to remember and share this week:
We can overcome challenges related to mental health and substance use conditions.

- It is OK to reach out for help with substance use and mental health conditions.
- Making informed, healthy choices can support our well-being.
- It's OK and important to reach out for help, especially if addiction or mental health conditions are affecting our relationships, work, or day-to-day life.

This month, prioritize your needs by setting healthy boundaries, asking for support when you need it, taking time to rest and recharge, and practicing gratitude daily. Every small step you take toward self-care is a step toward lasting recovery.

August 31 is International Overdose Awareness Day — a time to honor the lives lost to overdose, support the loved ones they leave behind, and raise awareness about the life-saving power of prevention, education and treatment.

Overdose is preventable. Through compassionate care, evidence-based treatment, and reducing stigma, we can save lives and offer hope to those who are struggling.

Today, we remember. We advocate. We act.

Choosing the right level of care is one of the most important steps in your recovery journey. Inpatient and outpatient rehab both offer life-changing support for those struggling with addiction or mental health conditions — but they differ in structure, intensity and the amount of supervision involved.

Inpatient rehab provides round-the-clock care in a structured environment, making it ideal for those needing a higher level of support.

Outpatient rehab offers more flexibility, allowing individuals to maintain daily responsibilities while receiving evidence-based care.

Understanding the difference can help you or a loved one take the next right step toward healing.

June is Men's Mental Health Month — a time to break the stigma, prioritize emotional well-being and a reminder that strength includes seeking support. At The Recovery Village, we’ve seen thousands of men get their lives back through choosing our compassionate, evidence-based behavioral healthcare.

For our alumni Doug Sander, the journey didn’t end after addressing his substance use. It was through continued care and a deeper understanding of his mental health that he discovered true, sustainable recovery.

Doug initially came to our center for addiction treatment and maintained his sobriety. But as time went on, he recognized something deeper was still unresolved – his mental health. Instead of ignoring the signs, Doug made the courageous decision to return for our primary mental health treatment program. Through this experience, he was able to face underlying challenges that had been silently impacting his well-being and threatening his sobriety.

His story is a powerful example of how recovery is not a one-size-fits-all path. It’s a process that evolves, and it often requires different types of support along the way. We’re honored to be part of Doug’s journey and grateful that he trusted our team to walk alongside him.

If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health challenges, you’re not alone. Call 855-780-9796 to learn more about how our compassionate, evidence-based mental health treatment can help.
