Thank you SPIRIT Club!

Our employee-run SPIRIT Club partnered with the San Joaquin Lions Club for a sneaker drive! The donated sneakers will be sent to be reused or recycled. Our recent sneaker drive is just one of the many community-focused efforts the SPIRIT Club rallies around throughout the year.

Every year on the first Friday of February, the American Heart Association encourages everyone to wear red to raise awareness, encourage education, and start conversations on heart disease.

Cardiovascular disease is one of the leading causes of death, especially for women. As part of our commitment to clinical excellence, St. Joseph's Foundation is proud to support the Morrissey Family Heart Institute in improving heart health and patient outcomes for our San Joaquin community.

2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the opening of our Heart Institute. Over the decades, St. Joseph's Foundation has continued to support the Heart Institute as we elevate healthcare access and respond to community needs for all of the northern San Joaquin Valley region.

A gift to our community

St. Joseph’s legacy began in 1899 under the leadership of the Dominican Sisters of San Rafael.

No one present that day in 1899 could have likely imagined that the 25 bed, $35,000 home and hospital would grow into today’s 355 bed medical center with a history of firsts in cardiac, cancer, women’s and children’s, and emergency services, and now a major training center for physicians.

Just as the original opening of St. Joseph’s was a gift to our community, we remain committed to serving the needs of our community – today – and well into the future.

Despite vast changes and advancements in medicine and technology, St. Joseph’s continues to live out our mission of serving and advocating for our brothers and sisters who are poor and disenfranchised and partnering with others in the community to improve the quality of life.
