Our CEO, David Ziolkowski, had the pleasure of presenting our vision for the future, including exciting plans for the expansion of our campus. It's a future focused on elevating patient care, fostering innovation, and dedicated to serving the evolving healthcare needs of our beloved San Joaquin community.

What a fantastic Planting Day we had this past Saturday! The cooler, cloudy weather was truly perfect, making our work in the garden so much easier.

A huge thank you to all our dedicated volunteers who showed up bright and early at 8:30 a.m.! Your enthusiasm and hard work ensured that our zucchini, peppers, eggplant, tomatoes, basil, and oregano are now happily nestled in the soil. We're so grateful for your passion for seeing our garden succeed.

It's through your hands and hearts that we can continue to grow fresh, healthy produce to feed those experiencing homelessness in our community. We couldn't do it without you!

Happy National Pet Day!

Today, we're giving extra love to our amazing therapy dogs and the incredible impact they have. We're especially proud to highlight our CanineKindness: A Pawsitive Classroom Project! Our therapy dog teams are making tails wag and smiles grow in Stockton schools (K-12), offering comfort and teaching kindness.
Do you have a well-mannered dog and want to make a difference? We need YOU!

Become a Certified Pet Handler and Therapy Dog Volunteer for CanineKindness. You'll receive no-cost certification, stipends for expenses, and the chance to create lasting memories, all for just 1 hour a week.

This Easter, our community shines brighter thanks to the exceptional efforts of our staff and the inspirational leadership of Blake! Our annual Easter Basket Drive truly outdid itself, collecting a phenomenal 184 baskets for children in need.

We are especially proud of Blake, who, with the help of St. Joseph's SPIRIT Club, personally crafted an incredible 125 baskets. It's truly moving to see him carry on this cherished tradition, a beautiful legacy started by his mom.

Their generosity will touch the lives of children across 7 organizations. Thank you to everyone who contributed and made this possible!

Come join the Pacific Running and Weightlifting Club in their first annual charity Easter Bunny 5K Run on the University of Pacific Stockton campus on April 1, 2026. All proceeds will go to benefit St. Joseph's hospital. Check in for the event will begin at 5:00pm at the Baun Fitness Center with the run beginning at 5:30pm. All runners will receive a medal for completion.

Foundation of the Year - St. Joseph's Foundation of San Joaquin, Stockton, California

We were recognized at the CommonSpirit Health Philanthropy Phillie Awards as the Foundation of the Year!

This award celebrates one fundraising office across CommonSpirit’s 80 foundations that excels across major gifts, grants and planned gifts. The awardee needs to achieve a balance, keeping expenses in check while investing in transformative programs and building strong teams dedicated to advancing the mission of the organization.

St. Joseph's Foundation of San Joaquin boosted our fundraising revenue by an incredible 10% over the last fiscal year, while keeping cost-raise-a dollar at only $0.15 for every $1.00 raised. And for every dollar they spent on operating expenses, we’ve transferred an astounding 3.4 times that amount to our hospital.

A gift to our community

St. Joseph’s legacy began in 1899 under the leadership of the Dominican Sisters of San Rafael.

No one present that day in 1899 could have likely imagined that the 25 bed, $35,000 home and hospital would grow into today’s 355 bed medical center with a history of firsts in cardiac, cancer, women’s and children’s, and emergency services, and now a major training center for physicians.

Just as the original opening of St. Joseph’s was a gift to our community, we remain committed to serving the needs of our community – today – and well into the future.

Despite vast changes and advancements in medicine and technology, St. Joseph’s continues to live out our mission of serving and advocating for our brothers and sisters who are poor and disenfranchised and partnering with others in the community to improve the quality of life.
