Established after the Civil War, Memorial Day Serves as a solemn reminder of the cost of freedom and the enduring legacy of those who gave their lives for it. VFW Luneta Post 52, along with the Park View Cemetery and Funeral Home invites you to commemorate this day with us, as we pay tribute to the fallen and ensure their courage and sacrifice are never forgotten. Let us come together to reflect, remember, and recommit to the values they fought to protect. Together, we keep their memory alive.

Fraud Alert ~ Obituary Scammers Warning

Dear Patrons & Public,

We have become aware of a nationwide scam targeting families that have recently experienced the loss of a loved one. In this scam, individuals pretending to be representatives of a funeral home or cemetery contact the deceased's family and may request, or even demand, some form of payment before services can proceed, or may request other personal information about the decedent. The scammers also use spoofing software that enables their phone number to appear to be that of the funeral home or cemetery.

We have had a handful of our local client’s report receiving these calls.

If you receive a call from an individual claiming to be a funeral home or cemetery employee who is attempting to “gather” or “verify” financial and/or personal information, please do the following:

• Refuse payment and NEVER disclose credit/debit card numbers, banking information, social security numbers or a date of birth. Do not disclose ANY personal information about yourself or your deceased loved one.

• Let them know that you will follow-up directly with the funeral home or cemetery and END THE CALL. Then call us using a number you know to be our legitimate number.

• Feel free to end the call without explanation if it appears suspicious or to be a scam.

We regret that we must make you aware of such a scam, but feel that by sharing this information with you, you will be more prepared should you become the target of such a scam.

Losing a loved one can be one of the most emotionally stressful times we ever face. Research has shown that the presence of a beloved pet or therapy animal can help a person control anxiety, regulate emotions, and improve mood. Since therapy dogs are trained to be attentive to a person’s needs and offer unconditional love, they can often stabilize intense emotions.

People grieve in different ways, and sometimes people find it hard to get the love and support that they need from fellow humans. For such individuals, therapy dogs can be a good option to provide love, support, and help them feel connected.

At Colonial Rose Chapel & Cremation, Athena is a regular in the office during funeral arrangement meetings with the families we serve. We have heard from countless people how much they truly appreciated having her with them during their time with us. She has even been an invited guest AT funeral services because of the strong bond she makes and the sense of healing and love she gives to those in need.

Athena is a celebrated team member here at Colonial Rose Chapel & Cremation, and she stands ready to show unconditional love and support to anyone that may need it.

Park View Cemetery and Funeral Home and Stockton Veterans of Foreign Wars Luneta Post 52, invite you (the community) to join us in honoring our veterans on Memorial Day at Park View Cemetery 3661 French Camp Road, Monday, May 31. 2021 at 11 am.

Keynote speaker: Major General (retired) Eldon P. Regua U.S. Army.

The Memorial Day service will be held outdoors. We will provide Coffee and refreshments to attendees.

We encourage attendees to wear a mask and maintain social distancing from non family members.
