We’re excited to finally share some big news- we are now offering women’s pelvic floor therapy at RCH!

After months of preparation, our Rehab team is ready to begin providing this much-needed care right here in Rooks County.

Pelvic Floor Therapy will be performed by the wonderful Becca Dreiling, PT, DPT, and Traci Hamel, PTA, using new equipment funded by the RCH Healthcare Foundation and RCH Auxiliary.

We can get you in quickly, without the long delays you might find elsewhere.

This therapy can help with:

Urinary incontinence, urgency, or pelvic pain

Recovery after pregnancy, hysterectomy, or cancer treatment

Pelvic organ prolapse, sexual dysfunction, and more

I wanted to post a reminder that I am officially on maternity leave as of August 4th. We are patiently waiting for baby girl to make her arrival. I am unsure when I will be returning back to work as of now. Once we get settled in as a family of 6, healed, back into the swing of homeschooling, and figure out what this next season of practice is going to look like for me, I will let you all know when I plan to be back serving patients!

I want to take a moment to say how truly grateful I am for you all and this business I have built. We moved back to Plainville in 2019 due to my dad being diagnosed with terminal cancer, and most of you have been with me since those early days - from having one baby in the office with us, now through 3 maternity leaves, and soon to be 4 kiddos. Your unwavering support of me and of our growing family has been nothing short of amazing. You are all very appreciated, and the sincere care for me, my family, and my maternity leave has been incredible. Serving patients has never been about money or accolades to me; it has always been about treating people right and helping them get out of pain as quickly and cost effectively as possible. Being able to balance serving patients while raising my babies will forever be one of the greatest blessings of my life.

Happy Friday! I wanted to give everyone a heads up for next month. I am currently booking into the second week of July, and things are VERY busy around here. I will be OUT OF THE OFFICE July 21-25 for vacation, and then I plan to be on maternity leave starting August 4th as I am due with baby #4 the following week! For my regulars, I would suggest getting on and getting your appointments booked for the remaining time! I appreciate you all and hope you have a great weekend!

Welcome! I'm so glad you're here.

I am Shelbe Darnell, a chiropractor located in Plainville and Stockton. I have a unique approach to chiropractic care in that I spend time treating both the musculature and structural aspect of my patients' pain. I use multiple modalities in addition to the chiropractic adjustment to relieve your pain quicker and for relief to last longer. Therefore, I do not just adjust and send you on your way. And if you don't like being adjusted, that's okay, and we don't have to adjust because I have other modalities I can use!

Although I love to see my patients, I would rather see them in the grocery store and enjoying what they love instead of in my office in pain. Once you start care with me, you do not have to keep coming multiple times per week for multiple weeks (unless you truly need to). The goal is to relieve your pain and keep you out of pain.

I am a wife and mother, first and foremost, and believe that the most important job I have is raising my children. Therefore, I am not open 5 days a week, 8-5. I do offer flexible scheduling and have convenient online scheduling. Both of my locations are family friendly and have plenty of toys to entertain your children during your appointment. Your children are welcome here! Plus, unless you arrive early, there is typically no wait time - because I value your time just as much as mine!

I am in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas, United Health Care, Medicare, VA Community Care, and Freedom Claims. If you have an insurance other than these, I can provide you a superbill to submit to your insurance yourself.

As far as conditions that I treat - typically any muscloskeletal complaints - the usual neck, back, and rib pain, but also hip, knee, foot, shoulder, elbow, and wrist pain. Conditions such as headaches, carpal tunnel, sciatica, plantar faciitis, pregnancy-related discomfort, sports injuries, and decreased mobility can also be addressed.

It's been awhile! We're still here, just getting into our new routines has kept us busy! I wanted to give a few updates for the new year.

There is a new consent form that will generate for all patients. Please fill this out prior to your appointment! A couple new consents to note:
1. Dr. Darnell is implementing a new feature in the EHR system called voice to chart that will voice record during your visit and chart relevant information into the chart note for your medical record automatically. Voice recordings are solely for the purpose of documenting your medical care, and this will save me a large amount of time on the back end charting! All recordings and generated notes are protected under applicable privacy laws, including HIPAA. Participation in voice recording is voluntary.

2. The cancellation policy - we require a card on file to book online, but your card will not be charged unless you no call no show your appointment or for a late cancellation.

We will be operating under the same hours until May! Currently, those are:
Plainville - Tuesdays-Friday 7-9 AM, and Tuesdays and Thursdays 3-5 PM.
Stockton - Mondays 2-5 PM and Wednesdays 11:30 AM-2:30 PM

Did you know we're open in Plainville Tuesday through Friday mornings 7 to 9 AM? We're also open Tuesday and Thursday afternoon 3 to 5 PM in Plainville!

For new patients, please schedule your first appointment as an initial exam. Returning patients, please schedule a regular adjustment or appointment.
