Hi Camp Carefree Families!
We want to remind everyone that our camper enrollment continues for summer 2026 and can be found on our website www.campcarefree.org
We believe that kids should be able to camp as much as possible to develop their communities and skills. Given that, we’re excited to share an additional resource for our families, Camp Kesem! Camp Kesem serves children impacted by a parent’s cancer and is hosted at campsites across the US, and there are four chapters right here in NC!
At Camp Kesem they know that when a parent faces cancer, their kids do, too. That’s why Kesem supports children ages 6-18 through and beyond a parent’s cancer with free, fun-filled, creative programs and a lasting community. Camp Kesem is more than just a summer camp. It’s where children facing a parent’s cancer can try fun new activities, laugh loudly, build confidence—surrounded by other kids who just... get it. 💚
No matter your children’s ages, or what stage of diagnosis or treatment you’re facing, Kesem offers a range of free programs—both in-person and virtual—to support your family’s unique journey.
Spots are filling up — learn more at kesem.org (http://kesem.org/) or register directly here (https://kesem.campmanagement.com/p/request_for_info_m.php?action=enroll). 💚☀️ If you have more questions please feel free to reach out to their Program Coordinator at mailto:gena.rumsey@kesem.org
