I'm so excited that Josh Elliott is running for Governor here in CT. He will be primarying against our current Gov, Ned Lamont.
I'm personally invested in Josh for the reasons on these slides, but also so many more. And I'm going to tell you about them!
If you don't wanna read that far/are already sold & wanna know how to support:
He's up against a millionaire.
Josh is not a millionaire.
Lamont is funding his own campaign.
Josh is doing grassroots fundraising.

Ok. You can read the slides, so let me tell you about why I like Josh.
I first decided Josh was someone special when I met him at a convention. Everyone was vying for the various candidate's attention. I was wheeling around speaking to folks abt disability/access issues. Most of them gave me their card & said to shoot them an email. Fair enough.
Josh, trying to sneak in a lunch break between events told me to come over & sit with him. He listened to me intently while he ate his sandwich. We talked for a good 10 minutes. He asked me engaging questions & seemed to care so deeply about the concerns I had. He shared his thoughts, ideas, but mostly had great empathy. He gave me his time! It was a world of difference from everyone else I met.
I saw him again a yr later at a different event. I remembered him. What surprised me is that he remembered me! & asked me about my work, and the issues I had asked him about the year prior. & he still cared. & the next year he did, too. & when I have reached out to him about bills or concerns, he has always been responsive, helpful, & kind.
& it wasn't just lip service. His voting record as a State Rep backs up his values & priorities. He lives his values, & he votes his conscience. & I really respect that in a leader. No double speak. No saying one thing but doing another. & if he has to make a move that seems uncomfortable, he is very open about why. No back room deals, no hording wealth while his neighbors struggle to put food on the table. Just a genuine human trying to make the world, or at least the state, a better place for everyone. And I'm all in on that.
