I’ve been making these mugs for well over a decade. I call the design Soul Shine. There are a few left in stock and they don’t make an appearance that often so if they speak to your Soul, come scoop one up before they’re gone.

It’s always nice when I can do a custom piece for a local fundraiser. This wheel thrown, handpainted plate will be auctioned off to raise funds for a restoration/renovation project at Wheeler library in North Stonington, Connecticut. The theme for the fundraiser is “Our Town Our Table” and you can find out more by reaching out to the library directly, the event is on January 31. Go support this stunning library and all it has to offer the community. https://www.wheelerlibrary.org/our-town-our-table

Thanks to my dear cousin who works at the Library and reached out to me about the fundraiser.

Last day of 2025! Anyone else ready to extricate themselves from this year? I’m super hopeful for everything that 2026 has in store but as always most often for a working artist, it will be a choose your own adventure! I’m here until 1 PM today, and will then be taking a short break from January 1-5th.

A huge thank you to everyone who played a vital roll in making glaze handmade a place that supports handcrafted original artwork. I urge you to follow the good folks listed below. Many are spectacularly talented artists and makers but more important, they are wonderful friends and family of mine and I couldn’t be more grateful to have them in my life.

Here 10-5 stop by and check out what’s left of the “pay it forward” table where you can scoop a piece of free pottery while there are still lots looking for forever homes .

No matter what your budget and even if you have no budget, the free table outside the shop only requires an act of kindness and exchange for giving a pot of forever home. Inside the shop we still have plenty of handmade gift ideas and I’m here to help you find the perfect one. open early today 8:30am to 1 PM.

Handmade for the Home

Glaze Handmade is a physical manifestation of one womans’ obsession with the craft of making pottery. Lyndsay Meiklem Dean has spent the last two decades playing in clay. She is largely self taught and is constantly experimenting with new styles, designs and glazes which add to her constantly evolving body of work. At Glaze you can watch the potter at work and browse from a variety of handcrafted clay pieces in the retail area. We hope to see you soon!
