Happy World Poetry Day❣️✍🏻

I have been both reading and writing poetry for as long as I’ve known how to read and write. I was that kid that got excited to watch slam poetry in school, to dissect stories and find the poetry in them, to analyze poems and interpret my own meaning. I love poetry and have always been amazed at the ability to evoke so much emotion through written word. It is the closest we can get to pulling someone into our own experience of existence. Support local poets, go to open mics, express yourself and write your own poems and don’t worry about whether they’re “good” or not. It’s art, it’s therapy, it’s creation, have fun with it 🩷
