A few months ago, Sonographer Kimberli DeLumen performed an echocardiogram that changed everything for one of her patients. She identified signs of a Type A aortic dissection - a life-threatening emergency - and immediately escalated her concerns to the team. Thanks to Kimberli’s swift action, the patient was diagnosed and underwent emergency surgery. With a mortality rate of up to 50% within 24 hours if left untreated, made all the difference. Because of Kimberli’s expertise and the rapid, coordinated care of the entire team, this patient is expected to make a full recovery.

Kimberli was recently awarded a Lifesaver Award for this incredible, life-saving work. Thank you for all that you do, Kimberli! ❤️
