Adam Kressel, MD, PhD, of Stony Brook Medicine's Department of Urology and Stony Brook Medicine Department of Surgery, recently contributed to an innovative study exploring a new way to improve long-term transplant success.

Even with modern surgery and immunosuppressants, inflammation can still damage transplanted organs over time. This study highlights how our body’s nervous system can be used to control inflammation and, therefore, enhance organ viability and improve outcomes for transplant recipients.

We are proud to have Dr. Kressel as part of our team, leading advances in transplant research and patient care.
