Tonight at 6:14 pm EST, we greet the final full moon of 2025 also the last supermoon in this year’s powerful trio. This moon rises in Gemini, ruled by Mercury, drawing our attention to the mind: the thoughts we carried, the stories we repeated, and the way we communicated throughout the year.
Opposite this moon stands the Sun in Sagittarius, the seeker of truth and meaning. Sagittarius urges us toward freedom, honesty, and spiritual expansion. Together, Gemini and Sagittarius form an axis of learning, perspective, and expression where air meets fire and curiosity meets wisdom.
This lunation invites a clear, honest reflection:
What mental patterns shaped you this year?
Did your words come from authenticity or from old conditioning?
What beliefs are ready to be released so new clarity can emerge?
As someone with a natal Gemini Moon and a Sagittarius Sun, this full moon feels especially significant for me and for anyone with strong Gemini or Sagittarius placements in their chart. These signs ask us to align thought with integrity, expression with awareness, and belief with deeper understanding.
Because Gemini governs the air element, a breath ritual is a powerful way to release the year.
In Huna, we practice the Ha breath, an ancient Hawaiian technique used to cleanse the mind, renew energy, and clear stagnant emotional patterns. The practice is simple and profoundly effective:
Inhale deeply through the nose, pause and exhale through the mouth with a long, steady “Haaaaaa” releasing tension, old thoughts, and the energetic residue of the year.
Traditionally, the exhale is twice as long as the inhale, symbolizing the letting go of what no longer serves and inviting a shift into balance and clarity.
Let this breath carry away outdated narratives, heavy words spoken from habit rather than intention, and the mental clutter you don’t wish to bring into the new year.
Inhale.
Hold.
Exhale—Haaaaaaaa
Let it go.
Let it all go.
