🚑 Trainee Tuesday! Meet Steven Santiago (19)!

Steven has been a proud member of Stony Point Ambulance Corps for 2 years. He started out his time here with our dedicated Stony Point Ambulance Youth Corps! His passion for EMS started early — it’s been a dream of his since he was just 4 years old! 💙

His advice to anyone thinking about joining? “Join — it’s a perfect opportunity! We have lots of benefits.” 🙌

When he’s not volunteering, Steven enjoys spending time with family and friends, and here’s a fun fact — he just found out he’s going to be an uncle! 🍼🎉

We’re so excited for Steven and proud to have him as part of our S**C family!

When he’s not on duty, Joey enjoys watching baseball and hockey — and has even traveled to many states and provinces to catch games in person! ⚾🏒✈️

Joey is also a member with our favorite FD Wayne Hose Company #1 Stony Point Fire Dept !

We’re grateful for Joey’s long-standing commitment and passion for helping others.

Yesterday morning, two of our ambulances — staffed by 7 volunteers — provided EMS standby coverage at the Rockland County Fire Training Center for the High Intensity Training Day hosted by Rockland County Fire and Emergency Services.

Firefighters from across Rockland’s 26 volunteer departments came together for a day of lectures and hands-on training. We’re proud to support our fire service partners and happy to report the event went off without incident. 👏🔥

📣 Introducing “Trainee Tuesday”!

Every Tuesday we will highlight our trainees and Youth Corps members! These motivated members are the third or fourth members on our crew who are in training to become an EMT or driver for our agency.

🚑 Meet one of our newest trainees, Nechama Kogos (19)!

Nechama has been a member of Stony Point EMS for just 3 months and already brings great energy to the team. Nechama took the most recent Summer EMT Class at the Rockland County Fire Training Center , where she sponsored herself through the class! She chose to volunteer with us after being inspired by many of her instructors who are proud members of our agency!

She says it best: “This is the best agency in the county — you should definitely join!” 💙

Nechama rides numerous times a week but her favorite shift is on Sundays when her father is working for Rockland Paramedic Services - Medic One. When she’s not serving our community, you can find her playing the piano. 🎹

We’re so lucky to have her as part of our EMS family!

Four Years Later, Never Forgotten

Today marks four years since we lost our brother, Joey Zask, in the line of duty. Joey was more than just a member of our corps—he was family. His dedication to helping others, his sense of humor, and the way he could bring a smile to anyone’s face are memories that will stay with us forever.

We continue to honor his service and sacrifice by carrying forward the mission he cared so deeply about: serving our community with compassion, strength, and commitment.

Rest easy, Joey. You are missed every day, but your spirit rides with us on every call.

A huge thank you to the North Rockland High School Varsity Football Team for hosting a car wash fundraiser today! Both of our crews serving the Town of Stony Point, New York community attended, and the boys did a fantastic job washing our ambulances. We know they’ll do just as great on the field this season!

🏈 Their next home game is Friday, September 19th at 6:30 PM vs. Mamaroneck – come out and support our Red Raiders!

📣 P.S. Keep an eye out for #65 on the O-Line, Dom, one of our very own Stony Point Ambulance Youth Corps members. He is making us proud on and off the field!
