Today we took a moment to remember a man who meant a great deal to our corps and our community — Jerry Vautrin.

For years, if you drove past the building, there was a good chance you’d see Jerry sitting outside in his chair, watching the residents of Stony Point go about their day. It was one of those simple things that became part of the routine around here. A quiet presence, a familiar face, someone who was always there.

Jerry was a dedicated volunteer and a proud life member who gave so much of his time to this organization and the people it serves. The building won’t feel quite the same without that chair outside, but his presence and the memories he left with all of us will always be part of this place.

Rest easy, Jerry. 🚑💙

❄️ Polar Plunge 2026 ❄️

Today we had the privilege of supporting the Stony Point Seals Inc. at their annual Polar Plunge. While the weather made this year a little different, our crews showed up in full force for the event and the Town of Stony Point, New York.

17 S**C volunteers staffed and covered both the event and the town, keeping all ambulances staffed and ready! 🙌

Haverstraw Ambulance Corps, Inc. supported the event by providing a 3rd ambulance for additional coverage! 💪

South Orangetown Ambulance Corps responded with 5 volunteers and their Special Operations Unit, providing a heated tent for the community! 😎

Overall, two dozen personnel supported today’s event — not including those working behind the scenes — and we are happy to report no injuries.

🎉 80 Years, One Call at a Time — First Edition

To kick off Stony Point Ambulance Corps’ 80th anniversary, we’re launching a monthly throwback series highlighting moments that helped shape who we are today.

📍 June 8, 1946 | Dance at Letchworth Village

One of the Corps’ early fundraisers brought the community together at Kirkbride Hall for a benefit dance in support of S**C. With live music, dancing into the early morning, refreshments, and prizes, the night celebrated more than just a good time—it marked the close of the contribution list for the year and helped support the future of emergency care in Stony Point.

Community support built this Corps—and it still does, 80 years later. Stay tuned for next month’s historic moment. 🚑🕰️
