BVRMC announces the most popular baby names chosen by families in 2025, reflecting a mix of familiar favorites and creative spelling variations.

Among baby girls born at BVRMC in 2025, Eliany/Ailany ranked as the most popular name. Other frequently chosen girl names included Madison/Maddison, Lety/Lettie, and Rorie/Rori, highlighting a trend toward personalized spellings.

For baby boys, Mateo/Matteo led the list of popular names for the second consecutive year. Additional popular choices included Kayden/Kaiden and Liam/Lyam, each reflecting parents’ creativity with spelling while honoring well-loved names.

The name Angel appeared as a popular choice for both girls and boys in 2025.

“It’s always exciting to see the names families choose for their babies,” said Jeanette Todd, BVRMC Director of Obstetrics. “We continue to see parents add their own unique touch to traditional names through spelling, while still selecting names that feel familiar and meaningful.”

The 2025 baby name trends reflect the individuality and diversity of families throughout the BVRMC community.

Thanks to the generosity of donors supporting BVRMC’s AWARE fund, holiday gifts were provided to patients fighting cancer this winter. Items in this year’s gift include a gas gift card, a grocery gift card and a snack box filled with holiday treats.

“We are incredibly thankful to have a community that supports our patients through the AWARE fund, helping them feel comforted and cared for during one of the hardest journeys of their lives,” says Deb Colshan, BVRMC Director of Oncology & Infusion.

The AWARE fund helps purchase items not covered by insurance for patients fighting cancer at BVRMC such as hats, wigs, grocery cards, chemo shirts, mastectomy products and other comfort items.

The Buena Vista Regional Healthcare Foundation recently purchased a new syringe pump for the BVRMC First Embrace Obstetrics department through the Cares for Kids fund. This syringe pump helps safely deliver antibiotics or IV fluids to newborns who are at risk of infection or need extra support after birth. Because our tiniest patients are so delicate, precise dosing is very important. This new equipment helps provide safe, consistent care and is one of the many ways the Foundation helps make the patient care experience better.
