The Storm Lake Boys Basketball team gave our community a season to be proud of.
While the final game may not have ended the way we all hoped, this team has absolutely nothing to hang their heads about. The effort, heart, and leadership they showed all season represented the best of Storm Lake.
Over the past few months, we witnessed something special. A ripple effect that spread throughout the entire community. From packed gyms and watch parties to kids waiting in line to get autographs from their favorite Tornado players, the impact of this team reached far beyond Tornado Fieldhouse.
The players and coaches didn’t just compete at a high level, they became role models for the next generation. Young athletes across Storm Lake and beyond saw what hard work, teamwork, and pride in your community can accomplish.
The positive ripple effect these players created will continue long after the final buzzer. It will show up in youth practices, driveway games, and future Tornado teams made up of kids who grew up watching and believing because of this group of leaders.
To the players and coaches: thank you for bringing this community together and for the positive example you set for so many young people.

El equipo de baloncesto masculino de Storm Lake le dio a nuestra comunidad una temporada de la que enorgullecerse.
Si bien el último partido no terminó como todos esperábamos, este equipo no tiene nada de qué avergonzarse. El esfuerzo, la dedicación y el liderazgo que demostraron durante toda la temporada representaron lo mejor de Storm Lake.
En los últimos meses, presenciamos algo especial. Un efecto dominó que se extendió por toda la comunidad. Desde gimnasios llenos y fiestas para ver el partido hasta niños haciendo fila para conseguir autógrafos de sus jugadores favoritos de Tornado, el impacto de este equipo llegó mucho más allá del Tornado Fieldhouse.
Los jugadores y entrenadores no solo compitieron a un alto nivel, sino que se convirtieron en modelos a seguir para la próxima generación. Los jóvenes atletas de Storm Lake y de otros lugares vieron lo que se puede lograr con el trabajo duro, el trabajo en equipo y el orgullo por su comunidad.
El efecto dominó positivo que crearon estos jugadores continuará mucho después del pitido final. Se notará en los entrenamientos juveniles, los partidos en las entradas y en los futuros equipos de Tornado, formados por jóvenes que crecieron viendo y creyendo gracias a este grupo de líderes.
