The oldest maintained cemetery in the U.S., the Myles Standish Burial Ground, was established in 1638 in Duxbury, Massachusetts. It is located near the landing site of the Mayflower and actually serves as the final resting place for many of the original Pilgrims who arrived on the historic ship.
