We are a private, nonprofit adoption, foster care and home study agency licensed in the state of Ohio. Founded by former foster care parents in 1995, Caring for Kids, Inc. believes that every child, regardless of gender, race, nationality or special need deserves a family. Over the past decade and a half, we have gained a wealth of knowledge and a true understanding of what is most important to our families. As a child and family-centered agency, our experienced social workers and adoption professionals are dedicated to providing our clients with a wide variety of complete and compassionate services. Based in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio we provide adoptive and foster services which include:
Birth and adoptive parent supportive services
International and domestic home studies
Pre- and post-placement training
Foster care certification

Caring for Kids believes excellent communication is the foundation of every good relationship, therefore we make communication with our clients and their families our highest priority. The Caring for Kids team is available to guide families, answer questions, and offer support before, during, and after the process to adopt or foster. Many of our staff members have personally adopted and/or fostered children, allowing them to provide families with first hand insight. We know your family has many available options when choosing an adoption and/or foster care agency, but we believe that our experience and compassion help us stand out from the rest. "We both grew up in northeastern Ohio and still live in the town we grew up in. We met through mutual friends during high school and have been best friends ever since. We have been married for 14 years and love doing life together. It is very important to us to spend as much time with our family as possible and we like to make the most out of every moment. Nathan and Macey are ready to adopt!

"We’re both nurses - Macey works in women’s health at a local OB-GYN office, and Nathan is a surgical nurse at our community hospital. We’re passionate about our work and feel grateful to care for others every day. Faith plays a big role in our lives. We’re active members of our church, where Nathan serves as a musician on the worship team and Macey volunteers on the medical team. We also love cheering for our favorite Ohio sports teams, spending time outdoors, and gathering with family. Our home is full of laughter, inside jokes, and meaningful traditions."

Considering adoption — or recently finalized? Here’s some encouraging news 💜

The federal Adoption Tax Credit continues to be one of the most meaningful ways families can offset the cost of adoption.

💰 How much is the credit?
• 2025 adoptions: up to $17,280 per child
• 2026 adoptions: up to $17,670 per child

The credit is calculated per child, so families who adopt more than one child may claim it for each adoption.

🔄 Now partially refundable
For the first time in years, families with lower tax liability may still receive:
• Up to $5,000 back for 2025 adoptions
• Up to $5,120 back for 2026 adoptions

Adoption is an investment in a child’s future — and support like this can make a meaningful difference for families.

Rachel and Maddie are ready to adopt!

"We live in a vibrant, family-friendly community just outside of Cleveland. Our town is known for its strong sense of community, diversity, and community events. We also have an excellent school system that Rachel teaches in! We live in a 3 story home with four bedrooms, three and a half baths, and a beautiful yard. Our home is just a short walk from parks, the Metroparks, shops, restaurants, and neighborhood schools. We share our home with our beloved nine year old dog, Libby."

"Owen has worked at a local court for over 14 years. He currently serves as the Grants and Payback Manager in the Fiscal Department. Owen enjoys outdoor activities, camping, sports, family, friends, movies, reading, museums, and more. Pam began her career in the non-profit sector.
Over the past nine years, she has worked her way up in the organization to the position of Director of Marketing at a local non-profit organization. Pam enjoys traveling, family, friends, trying new places/activities around Ohio, antiquing, DIY projects, cooking, and more. Pam is also adopted which we believe will make her an understanding and supportive parent to a child of adoption."

Your donation of everyday essentials helps Caring for Kids support children and families with dignity and comfort, from baby basics to hygiene items for teens and adults. The following are our top priorities for donations at this time:

🍼Small baby supplies like binkies, socks, rattles, diaper cream, etc.
