Our ladies enjoyed a Mother’s Day Tea program in their honor. The oldest mothers and the mother with the most children were recognized. All women enjoyed cupcakes, tea, and received a flower. A program of songs and poems about mothers was presented by Dawn Hendrycks, Activity Director and Chaplain. 💐

Mary Scott is our May Employee of the Month! 🎉 Everybody loves Mary—she is always kind, helpful, and brings a wonderful attitude to every day.

Mary has been working as a CNA here for 6 months but has over 20 years of experience in healthcare. “I love taking care of my residents and making them happy,” Mary shared with a smile.

Born in Osceola, Arkansas and raised in Casa Grande, Arizona, Mary moved to Springfield, Missouri at 16 and later attended cosmetology school in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she worked as a hairdresser. She eventually returned to Arizona before making her way back to the Ozarks in 2023.

Mary and her husband Willie have five children: Deshaun, Deshaunda, Maurice, Tiffany, and Joseph. She is incredibly proud of her family and her work.

“Who, me? I’m nothing special,” Wanda said—but we couldn’t disagree more. 💛

Born and raised in Bunker, Missouri, Wanda grew up as the oldest of six, helping care for her siblings before building a life full of love, hard work, and adventure. From farm life in Kentucky with her husband Thomas—caring for cattle, horses, and chickens—to her time working at Bank of America in St. Louis, Wanda has lived a life rich in experience.

She and Thomas shared a love for travel, visiting many states—including Hawaii—and making it a tradition to explore somewhere new each year. Wanda also enjoyed embroidering and spending time in her Baptist church.

We’re so proud to celebrate Wanda as our May Resident of the Month—she may say she’s nothing special, but we know just how special she truly is 💫

Mary Wood and Virginia Baldridge enjoyed watering the new flowers they planted in our Courtyard Unit raised garden. Several other residents also helped and had fun digging in the dirt. Spring is here!

Steve McArtor and Norma Forner enjoyed planting in our other raised garden. Flowers, tomato plants, and seeds were planted to start our beautiful garden for the season. A special thank you to volunteers Steve and Jodi Kemp for their donation to purchase the plants, soil, and seeds needed for our raised gardens.
