Last week, we volunteered at The Thomas Merton Family Center in Bridgeport. We donated and helped assemble bags to give out to guests in need.

Like HCAI, the Center respects the dignity of each and every person that walks through their doors and believe love and kindness are essential to meeting the needs of those they serve.

If you are looking for a meaningful way to give back this holiday season, please call us at (203) 345-0404 to learn more.

According to GLAAD third annual ALERT Desk Report, there were 932 anti-LGBTQ incidents in 49 states and the District of Columbia (the equivalent of 2.5 incidents ever day) between May 1, 2024 and May 1, 2025. 52% of all incidents were specifically targeting transgender and gender non-conforming people. Although anti-LGBTQ incidents dropped 20% over the last year, anti-trans incidents rose 14%. 📈

This November marks the 27th Annual Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR), an international observance that honors the lives of transgender and gender-nonconforming individuals lost to violence each year. Today and every day, we choose to celebrate the lives of trans individuals and support the community on this somber day. 🕯️

👉📞 If you or someone you know is in need help, dial 988 and they will connect you with a local crisis center that provides free and confidential emotional support 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For a full list of resources, visit HCAI’s website. If you need additional guidance in a non-emergency situation, do not hesitate to call HCAI at 203.345.0404.

Kicking off the weekend with q***r pop icon, Chappell Roan!

She isn't keeping it casual when it comes to supporting trans youth. The Midwest Princess just announced her Midwest Princess Project (named after her breakthrough debut album), and it's already raised $400,000 through her 2025 "Visions of Damsels & Other Dangerous Things" tour.

The funds are going to six organizations across NYC, LA, and her native-state, Missouri:

💖 The Le***an, Gay, Bis*xual & Transgender Community Center & Ali Forney Center (NYC)
💖 Trans Wellness Center & TransLatina Coalition (LA)
💖 The GLO Center & The Center Project (Missouri)

Now this is what a femininomenon looks like. 🏳️‍⚧️

Today begins Transgender Awareness Week 🏳️‍⚧️

In a time when conversations about the trans community can often focus on challenges, this week reminds us to celebrate the strength, joy, and achievements of trans individuals and their allies nationwide.

Inspired by Tim Gunn’s famous phrase, she didn’t just make it work... SHE MADE HISTORY. 🏳️‍⚧️

Trans Filipina designer Veejay Floresca recently became the first trans woman to win Project Runway in the show’s 21-year history.

From watching as a child in the Philippines to standing on that runway in tears of joy, Floresca’s journey is pure resilience. She chose Mimi Tao, the first trans person to appear on Project Runway, as her finale model–and continues to be a proud advocate for equality, inclusivity, and anti-discrimination.

From Manila to international acclaim, she has shown that fashion can be a powerful tool for change. ✂️👗

Continue to follow us on social as we celebrate the trans community and our allies who consistently advocate for equality and justice for all.
