Don made the move to Liberty Estates of Streator! He is enjoying the home cooked meals, front porch talks, and afternoon walks, all while allowing himself more time to enjoy his retirement years and make new friendships. Welcome to your new home Don, it’s great to have you!

We had a wonderful time Friday night with Don Joy and Melanie Lynn, who rocked the night away with some good ol’ country, classic oldies, and awesome originals. 🎶

Residents, tenants, and guests enjoyed cherry cokes and root beer floats, along with delicious hors d’oeuvres and homemade cookies. It was truly a pleasure having Don and Melanie take time out of their busy schedules to come out and perform for us. We look forward to seeing you again next year! 🎸✨

The tenants had a Great Time and a Great Dinner at Hank's Farm Restaurant in Ottawa for our monthly "dinner out." A big Thank You to Hank's for accommodating our group. We look forward to having dinner with you again soon!

We had such a wonderful time in the 4th of July parade this year! It was truly a family affair. We handed, and threw lots of goodies for kids and adults. If a team member wasn’t on the bus, then they were on the sidelines cheering us on. It was great to see so many residents’ families and villa owners. Can’t wait to see you all next year!

About the Musicians:
Don Joy and Melanie Lynn are a traditional country duet team.

Don is a singer and songwriter of traditional country music. A lifetime of music has taken him to such places as Las Vegas MGM, USA World Show Case, Ellis Island Casino, Marina Towers, Country Jubilee, and various Opry shows and venues. He has recorded 15 CDs.

Melanie started singing very young and has been singing in public at various venues 3 years before teaming up with Don. She grew up with traditional country music and a lifelong dream of pursuing a career in this industry.

They have performed in numerous places which include Missouri, Arkansas, Nashville, Iowa, South Dakota, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and Kentucky. They stand true to their country roots and the traditional country sound of light bluegrass, gospel, and Irish music.

Today was the perfect afternoon for an indoor presentation. Although it was raining outside, we were fishing inside. We enjoyed a great presentation by our LaSalle County Ombudsman, Rhonda Brown along with some delicious snacks and indoor bucket fishing. We appreciate all of the hard work and support that all resident advocates provide to the community, and we especially give Rhonda a big Thank You for all that you do!
