Midwest Covenant Home

Midwest Covenant Home Located in Stromsburg, NE, we are a certified & licensed nursing home providing short or long-term nursing care in a comfortable, residential atmosphere

Midwest Covenant Home is located in the small Swedish town of Stromsburg, Polk County, Nebraska. We originally began as an Orphan Home in 1912, and then later transitioned into an old people’s home, and then into a hospital in 1926. One of the earliest resident physicians was Dr. George Flippin, the first African –American athlete at the University of Nebraska, as well as many other firsts. In 1946, talk began within Stromsburg Evangelical Covenant Church to take the now-vacant building to become a home for the elderly. The next fall in 1947, we became the name we are known as today, Midwest Covenant Home. For seventy years, we have been taking care of residents with this mission; to provide residents with a Christian living environment where they are able to live with dignity while receiving quality care. We are a certified and licensed nursing home providing short or long-term nursing care in a comfortable, residential atmosphere.
