Since nearly three weeks already Nina is spreading her love and the perception of time appears faster than ever before.

Our birth experience went from water breaking at the Indian buffet (“I’ll eat first before having this baby!”) to Maya jumping in the birthing pool to help Nina popping out - just in time for her to still get born on my birthday March 10th at 11:56pm!

I have to admit, I really wanted to keep my own birthday and was open to her coming any other day but ok I’ll have a kids party every year instead. Of course she’s the greatest gift I could ever receive.

Sharing some impressions of our home birth while sparing you the natural rawness of the process. It was amazing in a lot of ways with some expected unexpected happenings. Facing my fears and limitations with no choice of giving up, the only way is through. Mama and baby are doing great and we’re overfilled with love!

I had the most incredible birth team around me and I’m so immensely grateful for my midwife Maya and her sweet birth assistant/sister Sonia , my in-laws Sally and Mark and my husband Josh . Lucy slept through the wild part of labor and birth, waking up to meet her baby sister in the morning!
