October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), and we are proud to celebrate the incredible talent and value individuals with disabilities bring to our local workforce.
Through programs like Long-Term Employment Services and Project SEARCH, we help individuals with physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities prepare for, secure, and thrive in competitive employment. From job coaching and interview prep to on-the-job training and partner placements, we are committed to building inclusive pathways that empower individuals to reach their full potential.
Our Long-Term Employment Services provide customized support including:
· Goal-setting and job application help
· Interview prep and workplace training
· Ongoing coaching and employer coordination
And through Project SEARCH, we create a direct pipeline to employment by placing participants in real-world job rotations inside partnering businesses, helping them explore interests, build strengths, and gain the confidence to succeed.
Our Career Camps and Work Based Learning Experiences help young people (14-22) get that first experience of having a job. It focuses on the soft skills we all need when it comes to joining the workforce:
· Communication
· Teamwork
· Time management
· Work Ethic
Employment opens doors. It fosters independence, builds confidence, and proves what we already know: when individuals are given the chance to work, they shine.
