Love this for our families and our own lives ❤️

Perfection can’t be required. What is required is a commitment to our own healing, learning, and practicing. Each child is different. We are different as we parent each child. Trauma impacts families, grief changes us, we have access to more and more education that we can apply to our lives and relationships.

But if we disqualify ourselves from thriving and joy because of our pain or the messiness of life then we can’t help build a kinder, safer world for our kids (or the young people we love). They deserve that we keep trying. And we deserve it too. Many of us are neurodivergent humans too or struggled too, and we grew up feeling bad, wrong, or broken. We have to write a new story for our own lives as we also love our families.

Parenting is hard work and it’s a commitment. It would help to have more honest conversations about this without shame or judgment. Some of the messages online are quite shaming for those of us who have kids with extra or special needs or who struggle with their mental health.

Take good care of yourself. Fill up. Ask for help. And keep showing up.

Whole Child Therapies (located in Stuart, FL) is a specialized pediatric ST/OT therapy center with a developmental learning center on site. Due to our continued growth, we are seeking an Occupational Therapist (OTR) who is a proactive caregiver with a positive “team player” attitude, and meets the following requirements:

· Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist (OT) therapy program

· Current state licensure

· Willing to collaborate with Speech Language Pathologists and Educators

· Willing to supervise 2 COTAs

· Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

· Results-oriented with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

· Tech-savvy with the ability to learn quickly

· We are open to an OTR who is an independent contractor OR one who desires to be an hourly pay employee
