We are a team of 5 ❤️😎 We are so excited to introduce Lisa. Lisa C. Anthony holds a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling with a minor in Biology. She is a licensed mental health therapist and an ACHE-certified hypnotherapist, with additional certifications as a fitness trainer and nutrition specialist. A former member of the Psi Chi Honors Society, Lisa has also been featured in Psychology magazine.

Lisa previously led the Grief and Trauma Program at a substance abuse treatment center and brings extensive experience working with survivors of sexual trauma and all forms of abuse. Her clinical specialties include grief, anxiety, depression, and stress management.

She integrates a wide range of therapeutic modalities into her work, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eastern holistic approaches, psychotherapy, person-centered techniques, and behavior modification. Lisa believes in a mind-body-spirit approach and views therapy as a collaborative partnership between client and clinician.

With a deep commitment to helping others heal, Lisa emphasizes the importance of processing and resolving past pain to create a life rooted in peace and freedom. She considers this work not just a career, but her life’s purpose — using the tools and insights from her own journey of transformation to guide others on theirs. Her greatest reward is witnessing the profound change that takes place in the lives of those she serves.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8427925/ . A recent systematic review by Gillison et al,6 in addition to several additional research studies, found that parent-led weight-focused conversations were associated with increases in overweight/obesity, engagement in dieting, use of unhealthy weight control behaviors (eg, binge eating, skipping meals, taking diet pills, or diuretics), and low psychosocial well-being (eg, depressive symptoms, low self-esteem, low body satisfaction) in children and adolescents

Many health care providers struggle with if- and how-to discuss weight with their pediatric patients. This study used one-on-one interviews with primary care providers (n = 20) to better understand their: (1) perception of risks associated ...

This science-based explanation from Jennifer Howell’s “Understanding and treating DID; A Relational Approach” really stood out to me, so I figured I’d share. A bit wordy, definitely, but it explains why and how the therapeutic relationship helps decrease dissociation and increases affect and/or regulation of affect. It is not always by what the therapist says, but their regulation of affect, facial expression, even tone (right brain variables). Furthermore, the fact that our sense of self is highly related to the orbital frontal cortex may provide us with the scientific explanation for why and are known to impact vision.

I will never not be in awe that can change brain structure.
