In celebration of Women's History Month, we’re shining a light on the amazing women whose contributions make Senior Lifestyle a great place to work and a great place to live.
In celebration of Women's History Month, we’re shining a light on the amazing women who make Senior Lifestyle a great place to work and a great place to live. Sonya, Program Director at Addington Place of Stuart, shares, “I am deeply inspired by Maya Angelou. Through all of her adversity, she showed the world that even when we encounter defeats, we must not be defeated. Her life taught me the power of compassion, resilience, and the importance of accepting and loving myself as I am — quirks, uniqueness, and all. For over 15 years, I have worked in senior living, and that journey has reinforced those same lessons. Working with my residents has shown me that every person carries a unique story — filled with triumph, heartbreak, wisdom, and love. I have learned the power of a simple hug, the importance of spending quality time, and the impact of reminding someone they are appreciated and loved. This field has been one of the most fulfilling paths I have ever taken. In both Angelou’s words and in my daily work, I see the truth that kindness, presence, and perseverance can change lives — including my own.”
Thank you, Sonya, for inspiring us every day and making Senior Lifestyle a place full of compassion, care, and joy.
