Anchors Aweigh Counseling is a private practice owned by Nicky Treadway, LMHC. Nicky specializes in Maternal Mental Heath and Adventure Therapy. 60 minute psychotherapy sessions available for individuals and couples/families struggling with the following challenges: Post Partum Depression/Anxiety/Mood Disruption Birth Trauma Depression Anxiety Adjustment Challenges Relationship Challenges
Session can be done indoors in a traditional setting or outdoors where the connection with nature is strong. Nicky also offers a signature birth preparation program called Inspired Birthing which helps prepare pregnant women for birth. The program includes a minimal of 6 session which focus on psychotherapy, utilizing BioFeedback to prepare for labor, and birth education.
Individuals are also able to schedule a ritual based session to help the move through a powerful moment in the life. You can schedule a ritual session to focus on any of the following areas: Loss/Honor, Transition/Accomplishment, Healing, Blessingway, Love (including officiant duties) ***************** Historically, sailors would use the term “anchors aweigh” to describe the moment when an anchor had been completely lifted off of the ocean floor, and all of the anchor’s weight could then be felt in the anchor chain. This served as an indicator that since the weight was now lifted, the ship could continue with its journey. We all need a little help lifting that anchor from time to time. No matter what form your anchor assumes, together we can explore healing options.
