Most of us live on autopilot - eating when we’re stressed, bored, or just because it’s there.

We tell ourselves we’re “being good” or “starting fresh tomorrow,” but we rarely stop to ask: am I even hungry?

That moment of awareness, the one where you pause before reaching for food, is where everything starts to change.

It’s not about restriction. It’s about waking up.

That’s exactly what we’re diving into this week inside the KSM Book Club, as we read my book This Is What You’re Really Hungry For.

We’re talking about how to quiet food noise, reconnect with your body, and build trust with yourself again. 🍂

Join me - it’s completely free, and our first meeting is on November 3rd.

I’ll never get tired of reading messages like these. 🧡

“Almost two years later, listening and reading it again is the motivation to get back in touch with her method.”

“I own multiple fitness businesses — and I’ve never seen diets work. Kim’s message changes the game.”

When I wrote This Is What You’re Really Hungry For, I wanted to give people a way to finally stop fighting food and start trusting their bodies again.

And every time someone tells me it clicked - that they feel calm around food for the first time in years - it reminds me why I do what I do.

This isn’t another diet book; it’s a new way of thinking. Simple rules. Real science. Lifelong results.

🍂 If you’re ready to feel that shift too, join the KSM Book Club - it’s completely free, and we’re reading This Is What You’re Really Hungry For together.

If you’ve ever felt like change just isn’t possible for you - I promise, it is.

I’ve seen it in every client who thought they’d “tried everything.” The truth is, you don’t need to change everything. You just need to start listening to yourself again.

When you eat when you’re hungry, move your body because it feels good, and treat yourself with compassion, everything begins to shift. Slowly. Quietly. But permanently.

Change isn’t about willpower. It’s about awareness, consistency, and believing that you deserve to feel better.

Because you do. 🤍

If we haven’t met yet - hi, I’m Kim 👋
I’m a registered dietitian and the creator of The Kim Shapira Method.

For 25 years, I’ve helped people heal their relationship with food - not by following more rules, but by understanding why we eat the way we do.

Because emotional eating isn’t about willpower. It’s about awareness, compassion, and learning to pause before food becomes the solution.

If that resonates with you, come join my free Emotional Eating webinar - I’ll teach you how to quiet the food noise and feel in control again. 💛

The best way to quiet that food noise isn’t restriction, it’s balance. 👇

Here are some examples of meals I recommend to my clients because they actually keep you satisfied:

🥗 A salad with grilled salmon, roasted sweet potato, avocado, and a drizzle of olive oil.
🍳 Scrambled eggs with sautéed veggies, avocado toast, and berries on the side.
🌯 A turkey and hummus wrap with roasted veggies and a small handful of nuts.
🍝 Pasta with chicken, veggies, and a simple olive oil + parmesan sauce.

Enough to fuel you, satisfy you, and keep your hunger cues steady. Want to learn how to keep the weight off without battling constant hunger?

No single meal plan will change your life.

Because it’s not about what you eat for a week, it’s about what you do consistently for months and years.

The real secret to maintaining weight loss isn’t perfection. It’s habits you can actually stick to: eating when you’re hungry, moving your body daily, and listening to what it needs.

If you’re ready to stop starting over and finally maintain your progress, this is for you.

Menopause changes a lot - your sleep, your cycles, your energy, even your patience.

But here’s what it doesn’t change overnight: your worth, your strength, or your ability to take care of your body.

I talk to so many women who feel betrayed by their bodies in this season. Like suddenly everything they used to do “stopped working,” and the first place they go for answers? Diet trends.

But diet culture preys on that fear, and it leaves you feeling even more frustrated.

If you’ve been told your metabolism is broken, I want you to know it’s not. You are not broken, and you don’t have to fight your way through this alone.

This is such an important conversation! Here is everything you need to know about fiber. Thanks Jessica for including my thoughts.
Xx

“𝐅𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐱𝐱𝐢𝐧𝐠” is having its main character moment on social media—because apparently, chia seeds and psyllium husk are the new influencers. 😅

But before you go from zero to fiber hero, I asked some of the best in the field what they really think about this trend.

➡️ Dawn Jackson Blatner, RDN, CSSD, author of The Superfood Swap, calls fiber “nature’s broom, sponge, and fertilizer.”
➡️ Samantha Cassetty, MS, RD, co-author of Sugar Shock, breaks down how fiber can support mood, metabolism, and more.
➡️ Lauren Harris-Pincus, MS, RDN, founder of NutritionStarringYou.com, explains why both soluble and insoluble fiber matter.
➡️ Jaclyn London, RD, MS, CDN, nutrition consultant and author, says the power of fiber isn’t in the numbers—it’s in the foods that provide it.
➡️ Kim Shapira, MS, RD, Kim Shapira Method author of This Is What You’re Really Hungry For, keeps it real about fiber overload (yes, there is such a thing!).

In my latest article for Forbes, we get into what “fibermaxxing” gets right, where it goes off track, and how to make this viral trend actually work for your body.

Because it’s not just about adding more—it’s about adding wisely.

Here are a few tips I share with my clients. 👇

🥗 Check in with your body. Ask yourself, “Am I physically hungry or is this emotional hunger?” Both are valid, but they need different solutions.

🥛 Start simple. Sometimes your body just needs water, a balanced snack, or a meal that includes protein, carbs, and fat.

⏱️ Pause, don’t punish. If you’re unsure, try the 15-minute pause. Eat half your portion, set a timer, and then see if you’re still hungry before going back for more.

🧘 Remove the guilt. Eating when you’re hungry is not “losing control.” It’s actually how you gain control.

The internet is LOUD when it comes to nutrition.

One day carbs are the villain. The next day it’s seed oils. Yesterday it was fat, today it’s protein.

But listening to every new piece of advice you hear online can actually make your relationship with food worse. Instead of clarity, you end up with confusion, fear, and food rules that don’t serve your body.

👉 Your body doesn’t need a TikTok trend.
👉 Your health isn’t a one-size-fits-all plan.
👉 And restricting based on someone else’s “hack” can do more harm than good.

That’s why I teach people to listen inward to their hunger cues, their energy, their satisfaction, instead of trying to follow the internet’s ever-changing list of “good” and “bad” foods.

Because the truth is, obsessing over health is not wellness. 🤍 https://event.webinarjam.com/register/4/gplv1c2

We’ve all had that moment… the cookies come out, and suddenly it feels like a battle in your head.

👉 Do I eat them because they’re here?
👉 Do I try to resist and feel miserable?
👉 Do I give in and then beat myself up about it later?

Food choices aren’t about being good or bad. They’re about awareness. Sometimes you’ll check in and realize you actually do need fuel. And sometimes, you’ll pause, and the food noise will fade on its own.

The real transformation isn’t in making the perfect choice, it’s in learning to listen to your body without guilt.

If emotional eating has been keeping you stuck in this cycle, I created a free webinar to help. https://event.webinarjam.com/register/3/zrm3pio
