Let’s talk about filler migration 👄
Dermal filler migration happens when filler moves from the original placement area into surrounding tissue. This is most common in the lips, but it can also happen in the cheeks or jawline. When it occurs, it can create a “duck-like” appearance in the lips or make the face look heavy or puffy in areas like the jaw and cheeks.
👉 Why does it happen?
Overfilling or layering filler on top of filler
Incorrect placement
Natural tissue movement over time
👉 How do we prevent it?
Using the right product for the right area
Conservative, natural-looking placement
Allowing time between appointments for integration
Dissolving old filler before adding more.
If migration has occurred, the safest and best approach is to dissolve and start fresh—this ensures the most natural, beautiful results. 💉✨
