The team at Cater 2 Kids is truly exceptional. Staff work together using a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to support each child’s needs. With strong teamwork across ABA, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy, professionals regularly share strategies and communicate to provide well-rounded care. This collaboration helps ensure goals are aligned and each child receives consistent, supportive intervention throughout their day.
My favorite part about working at Cater 2 Kids is the incredibly supportive and kind environment. Everyone is welcoming, and the staff genuinely support one another. It’s not something you find in every workplace. Having amazing supervisors and coworkers who truly care about each other and the work we do with children makes a huge difference. Being part of a team that values collaboration, encouragement, and shared goals is something I really appreciate.
Since working at Cater 2 Kids, I’ve grown significantly in my ability to collaborate with other professionals, especially in understanding the roles of the ABA and Occupational Therapy teams we work alongside every day. Learning what other therapists are targeting with a client allows me to carry those strategies into my speech sessions, reinforcing skills even when the child isn’t directly with that therapist. I’ve also gained a deeper understanding of how important consistency and communication are across disciplines.
Some of my favorite gym items to use in therapy are the crash pad and the swings. These tools are great for engaging clients while targeting functional communication like “more,” “all done,” and “help.” Kids especially love the crash pad, which creates fun opportunities to practice words like “up,” “more,” and “my turn” while building language and social skills.
One of my most memorable moments so far was seeing a recurring client finally master their target sounds after weeks of working on articulation. Watching that breakthrough firsthand was incredibly rewarding and a reminder that the hard work truly pays off.
