The second part of our on-going project is painting our pinatas. The clients picked a color to be their base and to cover up the newspaper, after they let the base coat dry they each got to let their creativity fly and paint their pinata any way they wanted.

Our current on going project for our group is making Pinatas. Our first step was ripping old newspapers into strips. We made the "glue" from flour and water. We each blew up a balloon and dipped the strips of newspaper into our glue mixture and than laid the strips onto our balloons. Before we can move onto the next step we will let them dry overnight.

We have been making all sorts of crafts lately - We made love bugs from toilet paper rolls, and we tried a new way to decorate our window with a stained glass effect using black glue, plastic bags and permeant markers, we also colored in cameras and made a roll of film of things we love.

In the morning we played some "minute to win it games" - we broke into two teams and we battled each other with games like blowing cotton balls into numbered bags to get the most points, mummy wrapping and cup stacking games. We made hot air balloons out of objects we found around our club house. We took paper bowls and turned them upside down to paint as our balloon. We used straw pieces to look like rope and we used cotton balls for clouds. Half a toilet paper tube acted as the basket. Our last step was looking through magazines to add a pilot to the hot air balloon. It was fun to make art out of every day objects!

The weather has been so cold, but its been so warm inside! Making homemade snow globes was our art activity today. We used mason jars and added baby oil, water, glitter and a dab of white paint. Before gluing our lid shut we each added a small plastic toy to the bottom.

The clients were on a roll at Apple Valley Lanes today! They got some strikes, lots of spares and even more laughs!
