Shen Men Ear Seed: Relax, Reset, Restore
Ear seeds are tiny seeds from the Vaccaria plant or small metal beads that are used in auriculotherapy, a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that focuses on stimulating specific points on the ear. One of the most powerful and commonly used points is the Shen Men point, also known as the "Spirit Gate." This point is located on the upper part of the ear and is believed to be highly effective in promoting relaxation, reducing stress, and calming the mind.

How do ear seeds work?

In TCM, the ear is viewed as a microsystem of the entire body, meaning that different areas of the ear correspond to different organs and systems. The Shen Men point is thought to be one of the most vital points for emotional and mental well-being. By applying an ear seed with a tiny bit of tape to this point, gentle pressure is continuously applied, which may aid in:

Reducing Anxiety and Stress: The Shen Men point is often used to help alleviate feelings of anxiety, tension, and stress. Stimulating this point can promote a sense of calm and relaxation.

Enhancing Sleep: By calming the mind, stimulating the Shen Men point may also aid in improving sleep quality and addressing insomnia.

Reflexology has been practiced all over the world for more than 2000 years as a gentle yet effective modality for promoting health and wellness. It is part of a system in Traditional Chinese Medicine that uses the energetic meridians or channels that run through the body and end at points in the feet known as acupoints. By firmly pressing into these points, a certified practitioner can stimulate the nervous system, the circulatory system, and the vital life force, helping move stagnant energy (Qi) from various organs and systems throughout the body bringing balance and improved vitality.

Each session starts with a 10 minute herbal foot soak and a cup of tea, followed by 50 minutes of Reflexology. Cost: $50.
