It’s hard out here for a small farmer! 😅
That makes me even more grateful for American Farmland Trust and their Brighter Future Fund. Their support helped make my drying shed happen — a total game changer on the farm. 🌿

The photos show the process — from the early stages of building the shed to a full harvest drying inside.

When herbs are dried too hot or too slow, they lose their color, flavor, and healing goodness. Now I can control the airflow, temperature, and humidity, which means every leaf keeps more of that medicinal magic! ✨

So thankful for programs that believe in and support small farms.

P.S. None of this would’ve been possible without the hard, sweaty work of my brother, my husband, and everyone who pitched in along the way — y’all made this dream real. 🙌

🐝 Did you know honey bees have their own signature buzz? Their wingbeat makes a lower, steadier hum than most other flying insects. After enough time with the hives, you can tell the difference instantly — I can pick out “my girls” just by sound, even when I’m out working in the rows.
